The Lego Republic issued an official response today, declaring the Ministry of Truth to be a "state-run propaganda machine."
"We will not believe Legoland propaganda when all other sources indicate that Deeds was at the center of the events that occurred this February," said Jane Hanover, head of the Office of Foreign Affairs.
Political analysts in the Republic agree that the Ministry of Truth is not to be trusted as a reliable source of information.
"Simply put, the Ministry of Truth tells minifigs what the government wants them to believe. Now that international pressure has focused attention on Deeds and his crimes, the military junta wants to wash its hands of him," said Benjamin Card, professor of politics and foreign affairs at Bricksburg University.
A recent interview by local media with Fred Deeds revealed that the former PBR president is most likely insane.
Deeds declared that his "most-prized possession" was the severed leg of a courageous FBA by military officer, who suffered the injury standing up to Deeds's tyranny and fighting for liberty and justice in the PBR. He brandished this grotesque souvenir at reporters, feeling no remorse or disgust with his despicable actions.
"Fred Deeds is a very disturbed individual, seeing as he delights in the pain of others and takes pleasure in spreading destruction whenever possible, first in the PBR and now in Legoland," said psychology expert Martin Cerveau. "It is my belief that he needs urgent medical attention as soon as possible."
Deeds also took the opportunity to threaten PBR Supreme Chancellor William Brik's life, notably after having held the leader in captivity with the aid of terrorist group Cobra during the PBR Seven-Day Civil War. In addition, Deeds accused the PBR, Federation of Legopolis, and Lego Republic of attempting to bring about war and declared that Legopolis and the Republic are "pawns" of PBR.
"Deeds's comments are offensive and threatening, which comes as no surprise, seeing as he has been on the Lego Republic's terrorist watch list for months," said President Marie Bricks. "Deeds is a maniac, terrorist, and war criminal, clearly a danger to the minifig world. He seems to want to prove this fact every time he speaks publicly."
"Our relationship with the PBR is a friendly and cooperative partnership between two equal nations. While we are eager to work with other countries, ultimately, the Lego Republic makes its own decisions," added Jane Hanover.
